The Waikiki Grand was built in 1963. Originally opening as the Waikiki Grand Hotel, its 173 rooms, restaurants, bar, shops, open lobby and rooftop sundeck made it one of Waikiki's premier hotels.
In 1978 the hotel converted to condominiums and formed the Waikiki Grand Hotel AOAO. As a result each apartment is now privately owned. While most units remained in the hotel inventory, some owners renovated units for residential use. Today the Grand is occupied by residents, hotel guests and nightly rental patrons
One of the most exciting aspects of the Waikiki Grand is its amazing location. Built directly across from Queen Kapiolani Park, the Grand will never lose its spectacular views of Diamond Head, Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Beach and the turquoise waters of Waikiki.
Just steps away from world famous Kalakaua Avenue and Waikiki Beach, guests and residents of the Grand have access to all manner of restaurants, shops, cultural sites and water activities. Surfing, snorkeling, shopping, hiking, dining and more await the fortunate visitors of the Waikiki Grand
The Waikiki Grand is home to many residents and businesses. Chief among these is the Waikiki Grand Hotel, which operates our nightly stay units. The lobby also hosts a high-end hamburger restaurant called Teddy's Burgers and Hawaii American Realty.
Located on our 2nd floor, Hula's offers three distinct personalities. By day it is a neighborhood bar. Early evening brings Happy Hour with live music. And after 9:00pm DJ's create a gay disco. On the 10th floor MacMouse Club serves all your Apple and Mac needs.
OUR LOBBY (First Floor)
Live jazz is played each evening on the lobby's grand piano. The music begins at 7:00pm and often includes guests who lend their voices to the night. One of our regulars often says "if you can talk you can sing." So pour yourself a glass of something delicious and come join the fun.
HULA'S BAR (Second Floor)
Music, dancing, drinks specials, DJ's, live shows and a weekly Booze Cruise makes Hula's Bar and Lei Stand one of the most popular party spots on the island. And it's all right here in our building. There's more; adjacent to the bar is Hula's Bar Bites by Ginniberries offering lunch and dinner options as well as bar food.
OUR SUNDECK (Tenth Floor)
Located on the 10th floor, our Sundeck offers unobstructed views of Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach, Honolulu Zoo and Kapiolani Park. A favorite gathering place for our residents and guests, we often host sunset cocktails, holiday parties, family gatherings and musical events.
The Waikiki Grand AOAO is led by a nine member Board of Directors headed by President Tom Miller.
